CartIt NT 3.X is downloading instead of executing.

CartIt NT 3.X is downloading instead of executing.

Cause:

The folder that cartit.exe is installed in is not designated by the server as an executable programs folder. "cartit.exe" is a program and the server does not know what to do with the file. Basically, the server is sending the file as is instead of executing it.

Solution:

You need to use your FrontPage administration utilities to set the "cgi-bin" to executable for "Programs" not just "Scripts".

If you are unable to set the permissions on the folder with your FrontPage administration utilities, or if your Internet provider does not provide FrontPage utilities, then you must contact your Internet provider to have them do this for you.

Once this is done, the server will know what the folder "cgi-bin" is for and will begin to execute the program. CartIt should function at that time.

Technical Notes:

NOTE: We are unable to offer any assistance on this issue, as we do not have control over the server where CartIt is installed. This issue can be easily remedied with FrontPage administration utilities or by the Internet provider.
